My $1500 car has been overheating so I drove it in to get it checked out. It didn't look like it was leaking coolant or water so I was praying it wasn't the head gasket... it was the head gasket. I'm looking at 1500-2000 just to fix it or 200-300 to make it temporarily roadworthy just so I can trade it in for a new car on which the interest payments alone put me 170 out of pocket per month. That's not really a lot for me but it means I can't just spend money however I like.

i just started driving and to my luck, the gas prices are going through the roof! some people are predicting it will cost about $7 a gallon by fall.

Wow.

I too just got a car but I'm only taking it to school (12 mi in the city through the ghetto) and to the lake (200 mi) and usually I take the train to school.  Any errands around the town I now run on my bike.  Gas costs down.

Sorry to hear about the head gasket, that sucks balls, big ones.

As far as the rise in gas prices, I think my decision to buy a motorcycle just got a little easier.
