Gravedigs should make people excited or concerned, only to find out seconds later that what they are reading is really old and no longer relevant. A regular, currently-still-in-the-alliance user posting to say hi is boring. You need to gravedig stuff that would cause a shitstorm or a party if they were true, like somebody burritos or returning, or a war starting/ending.
Alternatively, you could just refuse to let an old irrelevant topic rest in peace, bumping it twice a week to annoy everybody.

This.
Or a thread about gravedigging

late last year I dug up a shitload of HQ threads from various places in RIA history, mostly the riasplosion, mainly so the titles themselves would read as a narrative in cockpony to someone going down the list thinking WTF. but as soon as they clicked one they'd figure out what was going on, if they hadn't already realized they were gravedigs from the 'thread started by guy not in alliance, thread started 2 years ago, all these threads last commented on by llamavore'.
of course, vintus got butthurt because he was afraid people couldn't find the second page of HQ or because we might lose some noobs who couldn't take a joke. so I think all those threads either ended up in the trash or got deleted. so he does all that unnecessary shit and then cry-flames me because he wasted 10 minutes doing something that was unnecessary, and threatened to ban me, which would have been sadly un-RIA.
anyway I spent hours finding the right threads to gravedig to kind of make a narrative, arranging them in the right order, trying to say pertinent non spammy things in them. but that's why most of you guys probably never even saw it. could have been fun. it was also hilarious, though, that soem people were so ashamed of past posts they'd made and blamed me for bringing them up again, when anyone could have read them at any time, and there were far worse threads I didn't dig up because it wouldnt' have been funny in that context.

It made me excited because Shadow never makes topics in here
