I'm just wondering. I play COD4 and Battlefield 1943.
-
Oh god, I hate Call of duty 4.
1: Spawn in the middle of a firefight
2: Get killed by stray bullets flying through concrete
3: Respawn on the other side of the map
4: Get killed by claymore
5: Respawn in a firefight
6: Snipe two guys and feel proud
7: Get killed by sixteen grenades to the face like FUCKING ARTILLERY
8: Be the only on on your team to get killed by the enemy helicopter, then its shot down
9: Finally get to a capture point
10: Get detonated by C4
What a useless game.

That's the good thing about it haha.
-
I agree its the randomness that makes it fun.

I need to get one, if only to play GTA4. I know, I am way behind the times. The wife wanted a Wii, so we got that first. I not not really complaining. I do like the interactive part, but I miss being able to play real games too.
-
I'm not touching the PS3 till prices drop below $200. Personally, I've yet to see a game that interests me on it. So when it becomes wicked cheap, I'll grab one. Till then, I'm perfectly content splitting between my Wii and my NES.
-
Somehow I think you are going to be waiting a while. The BluRay player makes it appealing, but I don't really want to spend $27 on a movie either.
-
Eh, I don't mind waiting, because the PS3 only holds marginal appeal. But if 250$ Gamecubes are now 25$, I'm sure that within a few years PS3 prices will drop. :/

But the gamecube has a much more limited fan base. The PS2 is still going for $100. You won't see ps3 prices get that low until the ps4 comes out, whenever that may be.
-
And I don't mind waiting that long. >_>
Point is: I see the PS3 as a novelty item that will be useful for a handful of games.
Now, if Nintendo released a new console, provided it's not an obvious pile of suckage, I'd pay whatever price they wanted.
And Microsoft... I'd be first in line to install Linux on the console to spite the system.
Though... I wish they still actively made new NES/SNES titles... Those I'd jump for immediately.

Like the gamecube,

I actually didn't mind the Gamecube, it had some real gems.
Metroid Prime remains the only FPS I enjoy. Tales of Symphonia is my favorite RPG of all time (500+ hours logged in-game), LoZ Windwaker was FUN, and SSB Melee is TOTALLY better than Brawl.
