Ok so i was watching a Q&A session with the genius known as Kevin Smith and i learned the following
In the 1990s a movie called "Clerks" came out, if you don't know it, then your missing ALOT. After the movie was proven to be a major hit, and some would call it a cult classic, an animated series apparently came out, then bombed.
But what most did not know, was, that they actually shot a live-sitcom pilot version of Clerks. Now when this idea came out, it had alot of potential, they were even willing to bring Kevin Smith(writer/director/father of the movie-although he now longer owned rights to the Clerks franchise).
Kevin went in to help them, and did a great plotline for the pilot or an episode period, and they had the gaul to tell him that it was only good or a background storyline. So Kevin walked out and took two of the Clerks characters with him(seeing he still owned the rights to Jay and Silent bob) This pretty much killed the project, and it was never picked up.

Pretty sure anyone who's remotely interested in Kevin Smith knows about Clerks. I didn't know about the Pilot, though...
