Shield and a hand weapon. That gives +1 to their armour save value when their infantry so it can be pretty useful. Second choice is probably a great weapon for the +2 strength bonus even though it makes them strike last; I'd rather make sure of my kills then rely on luck.

Of course, this excludes all magical weapons because otherwise the choices become limitless.

FAL? pfff  :rolleyes: that AN-94 puts the FAL to shame in terms of accuracy, when you can put TWO, rounds in a target the size of a baseball at 75 yds with one squeeze of the trigger, aint no contest...  :smug:

and if it's cheap you're going for, Mosin-Nagant man, barely more than $100 per rifle, sure it's an old bolt action, but you get what ya pay for...  :rainbowsheep:

They give the Canadian Rangers Nagants or Garands when they go up the north to keep sovereignty etc

I was looking at the AN-94 but seriously, it's way to pricey to outfit any army with, especially when:

That's a lot of cash lying on the ground after a battle if your guys are holding onto something like that. when the U.S. finally decided to take the automatic function out of their guns because of the ammo wasted and loss of efficiency it hilights a good example of why two-rnd function is handy, but all guns are fairly accurate, it's the firer that makes the difference. Put any gun in vicegrips and you'll hit the target.

Plus, the maintenance factor is a little disconcerting.
