Surely those bombs could be more effectively used elsewhere, like in North Korea or Italy.
At this point, there aren't even any cool pictures showing up on the news - you know, the kind with big fireballs, and limbs and torsos flying around in all directions. Although I have a strong preference for photos and reel of airstrikes, at this point I would settle for just one of a mass grave with a heart-wrenching caption about an entire town being wiped out willy-nilly. Alas, it won't happen, because we don't have troops on the ground, so it is time to move on in search of better footage in someone else's backyard.
I will begin to action this de-escalation with NATO leadership next week, and search for a target and coalition shortly. Any nominations? Who can we righteously bomb for the benefit of a media spectacle?

I say bomb Israel and Palestine so they will finally stop fighting each other.

Incidentally, I have come up with a somewhat forceful, but potentially effective solution to the Holy Land fighting.

Newfoundland.

Oh, I wouldn't go after the newfies - they are liable to confuse the invasion forces into shooting themselves. Their power of dialect is to be feared, and avoided by the wise. Best not to come where they're at or they will go where we're to.

I support Gaddafi; let's say a bunch of Americans randomly decided Obama was too opressive and revolted, taking the East Coast and a chunk of Nevada with them - would you want the rest of the world supplying arms to the rebels and bombing our cities just to get at our oil reserves? I sure as heck wouldnt

Uh, you mean like the War of Independence?
-
Yeah. Wars of independence, unless fueled by nationalist fervor, are generally unjustified and irreputable.

I would counter that if they are fueled by nationalist fervor, they are unjustified. The US War of Independence was about fair representation above all else, hence the resulting democracy. I don't see much difference with the Libyan war. When I think of nationalist fervor, I think of Hitler and Mussolini.

A mistake too many people make. What some call nationalism, others call patriotism.

Nationalism is the last refuge of the scoundrel.
