Rough deal - the blimp apparently hit the ground hard on landing , causing a fuel leak and fire, so the pilot told passengers to jump out at 6 ft altitude. Being a blimp, the loss of 600lbs of payload sent it soaring into the air, where the pilot burned to death at 150ft in the air. Apparently he could be heard screaming until he could no more.

This caught my eye because at first I thought the Goodyear "safety" thing was torn to pieces by this accident. But when I saw that the pilot saved his passengers, and stayed with his ship instead of jumping out himself (probably in an effort to save lives on the ground), only to die a fiery death, I could only think of the pilot as a hero. I can't say for sure I would have done the same thing...

Holy shit. I can't say I would have done the same.
What a terrible way to die.
