Title: It's not just cybernations that is dying
Post by: Kenneth Kenstar on January 10, 2016, 03:30:51 am
All parts of "our corner" of the web are shrinking. SomethingAwful, the mother board, forums that don't exist, etc

What is happening? Well. My theory is the platform. Forums aren't exactly a strength for mobile devices. And it's the forum software's fault mostly.

It's time to grow with the times. I'd do it but I'm too busy with street fighter. But maybe I'll still do it. I'll let y'all know of course.

But hey let me know if you do it because I'll shitpost for you

are you talking about a mobile friendly forum? why not just make a group kik or line or w/e

How do you plan on making a forum mobile friendly? Just shrink everything...?

Then again, people seem to reddit on mobile a ton. (not trolling just saying)

I don't really consider Reddit in this group I'm referring to nor do I consider it a forum. It's an echo chamber. It's not made for discussion, it's made for squelching dissent.

And a mobile friendly forum would be an app with notifications and being able to share things directly to the app.

dear god tell me you're not going to build RI5 into that thing. I am still trying to get it to stop emailing me about late failed missions for my nonexistent nation

would it be all one topic... or use hashtags to sort topics and stuff you want to hear about?

There are more than a couple ways to do it

If I had to use something like hashtags or tags in general, I'd make them work like mailing lists probably. You'd subscribe to them. With one tag being everyone being auto subscribed to.

Clearly, this forum is also dying. I thought people used this more than IRC or something.

Well I never used IRC as a Street Fighter video delivery system

IRC could also be another reason why CN is dying tbh, but I think my "Your legacy of shitposting on The FAQs is dying" theory is the main reason
