I don't think it is God eating Jesus.  The style is realistic, so Middle Age or Rennaisance, where God would be portrayed less scraggly and creepy-old-guyish.  And never, ever eating Jesus.  I'm guessing it's Renaissance, so refering to a classical myth.  My guess is it is the Greek god Cronus eating one of his children.
