I found a recent game online called "Goal Line Blitz".  It's an MMORPG and you get to create ur own athlete.  Pick his position, attributes, equipment, and team.  You start out small but, as your athlete gains fame through games, you get points to spend on your athlete to make him better and buy better equipment.  As a big football guy and player myself, this game is awesome.  If interested click on this link below to sign up
