As very few of you are aware, I like to doodle. And I've had a magical doodle pad for the past 7 years. Wacom bamboo fun, I think.
It's been giving me problems. Specifically the pen would zoom in on the screen any time it would touch the surface. Clearly this is unproductive to targeted doodling. I figured I might as well try to update the drivers. Was a bad decision. Drivers broke things. Uninstalled drivers fixed things. Except my doodle board is now a large overpriced mouse pad.
As much as I would love to have a mourning phase, I'm in the middle of having my muse molest my brain so I would like it if I could move on quickly.
I'm going to skip wacom this time. Don't get me wrong, I don't regret anything about my bamboo. Just the two ends of quality are coming too close together in price. And I don't want it to be "well if I'm paying this much then I might as well..." kind of thing. In general I'd just rather move on and try wacom again in a decade.
So the two brands I'm looking at are ugee and huion. I'm just starting up looking at these two. So far it looks like the fault of huion is that it's drivers like to not work. I don't know much about ugee yet. I know they both have reasonably priced tablets. We'll see what they have later.
So I will update as my research goes on. Discussion is encouraged. Suggestions are desired.
