Random lnsanity / WHAT???
« on: June 11, 2008, 10:25:47 pm »
The only reason I got a manhatten project is because so much mony stockpiled before when I lost trades.  I just climbed back up from being down at 2 trades.  I wsh I could get on the RIA trade circle, it would be great to have some trades I could count on.

Great Monument would be best I think.

Or you could get a Manhatten Project and join the exclusive club of RIAers with it.

I have to say I was thinking about getting a manhatten project, just because it would be fun to have nukes.  Although if I did that I'd have to find a uranium trade, and usually it takes me about a decade to get new trades.

I was wondering what wonder I should get next right now I've got 141m stockpiled (long, annoying story) and I've got Great Temple, Internet, Interstate System, National Research Lab, Social Security System, Stock Market so far.

I generally don't go that far, but really my trade partners are usually pretty good about it.  It's just finding new ones thats tough.

I kmeow, I usually offer money, but they just don't respond.  Guess I'm doomed to not have full trades.

It seems like you can't even bribe nations to trade with you anymore.  I keep trying, and trying, but I can't seem to get trades, even when I offer money.  Sigh

Tech Trades / I'm looking for tech sellers
« on: January 13, 2008, 11:18:00 pm »
That's great.  If possible I'd like to set the deal up the way I talked about.  But if we can't find the couple other people we can run it with just a middleman.  I send you 3m, then you send 50 tech along with middleman fee to second nation, he sends tech to me, then you send another 50 to me when the ten days is up.  Sound good?  All parties involved should make a nice profit.

Just like the title says.  I'm looking to buy 250 tech total.  Not all at the same time obviously.  If possible I'd like to set up a trade series so that I can send 3m to one nation, then that nation sends 50 tech onto nation 2, half the money onto nation 3, then nations 2 and 3 send tech to me.  Anyone interested?

Random lnsanity / Well I got an interesting PM today
« on: December 17, 2007, 01:47:24 am »
So I look at my inbox and find the following message.

Hi

i am ging and i am in desperate need of aid. I have a low infastucture and NO money. If you help me i will rember this and help u if u ever need it. Any donation is very much appreachiated.

thanks Ging

At first I think, "maybe he's a member of RIA", so I go and look at his profile.  He is not in fact a member of RIA.  So then I think maybe he's one of my trade partners, and is trying to get help for that reason.  Nope, not a trade partner.  In fact he's not even part of an alliance.  So as far as I can tell he's just randomly sending PM's begging for money.  I'm not even sure why he's "in desperate need of aid" he's not even currently in any wars.  If you'd like to check out his nation it can be found here.  http://www.cybernations.net/nation_drill_d...ation_ID=178441

Anyway  just thought this was funny, it's the first time a random nation I've never heard from has come begging for aid for no reason that I can figure out.  I especially like the fact that he says that he'll remember any aid given.  That's nice and all, but unless my nation gets bombed back to the stone age I somehow doubt his strength of 588 is going to help me out much.

Random lnsanity / Happy birthday Expedience
« on: November 25, 2007, 10:26:37 pm »
My nation turns 1 year old in 4 days.  In the past year I've been part of ACID, which became part of LOSS, where I switched over to RIA when they talked about merging again.
I've been through a few wars, fortunately never terribly injured, though I did take a few hits here and there.
I've seen those considered dominant powers fall "legion", and the rise of powers that I never thought would go on to rule "GPA".
I've heard causas balli used more times on the forums than it surely was ever used in the days of Rome.
I've seen spam and debates, I've seen emoticons of smiley's having unnatural relations with a sheep.  And not by choice.
I've posted here and there, I even made a thread on the main forums advocating total nuclear war between all nations.  That thread earned me a grand total of 13 posts, most of which consisted of people considering ZI'ing my naion.
I've seen what tangled webs mortals weave, in the form of MDPs, NAP's, and all the other many and varied alliances, quasi-alliances, and a few political factions so strange and obscure that I doubt even the signatories could tell you what the point was.
I saw the days of wrath in which the cyberverse came crashing down because of images and other postings by a faction that wanted little more than to cause revulsion amongst the CN community.  I saw the site taken down, I saw the number of players fall, and rise again.
I've lost enough trades that every time I log in I expect myself to be losing half a million a day from my total income because someone let their nation expire or decided that silver and sugar wasn't really the resource combo that they wanted.
I've seen RIA grow from a tiny alliance into one that is approaching sanctionable levels.
Though I wasn't in the alliance at its founding, or for quite some tme after, I had friends here, and it has amazed me to see an alliance founded on the principles of randomness and insanity grow the way it has.  An alliance that once declared war on itself for no reason other than it's own amusement, and who's members drafted an agreement which contained the provision that there would be no first strike policy on the usage of lube.  Strange things I've seen in my 361 days here in the cyberverse, some I've observed, some I've heard of, and sometimes ones that I've helped along.
4 days util my nation turns 1, practically ancient to me.  4 days until I begin my second year of cybernations, and I see what else this game has in store for me.  New factions?  New allies, new enemies, new wars?  I've seen alot in so short and so long a time, but I very much doubt I've seen it all.  I look forward to seeing what else the game has in store for me, for all of us, as it is the players that make up the cyberverse that make this game so much fun rather than any mechanic or rule running on the processors.  Thus I end my long winded diatribe with this, Long live the cyberverse, Long live Admin, Long live Expedience, and above all, long live the RIA.

That links brings us to our own tax collection screen. You can't link people to parts of your nation other than the display nation page

Oops, this should be the real link hopefully. http://www.cybernations.net/nation_drill_d...Nation_ID=72075

Give me the chance and I could rhyme on a pin.

Some of these rhymes have been so bad
They have really made me sad
And making me sad makes me mad
Making me mad would be bad
So of this you should be glad
I'm too far away to hit you by just a tad
Maybe this topic is just a fad
Or maybe it will stay rad
But whichever way this thread does pad
I feel that I really must add
At the risk of being thought a cad
My vocabulary is solid gold clad

I just made the 2k jump.  Unfortunately I don't have quite enough money to get all of my improvements today, so I'll have to wait until tomorrow to get another one.

The good china?  A holey blanket (spelling error purposeful)?  Angel food cake?  tonicecorn?  The compass rose?  (It has the Cardinal directions)  A chess set because of the bishops?

For some reason it won't let me use p o p e. It keeps changing it to Tonice, weird.  Anyway the item should be p o p e corn.  Without the spaces of course.

I would go to my friend's house in the initial wave, which is on a hill and collect food from the food mart A MINUTE AWAY.

Seriously, that would be the only place we would have to go.  My friend has about 4 fully assembled AK47s, a couple AK74s, and enough kits to make about 15 more AK47s and AK74s.

He also has about... more than 5 12 gauges, and several assorted shotguns, along with a TON of ammo. In addition to the large arms he also owns a variety of handguns, plus a nice handy demolition skill he picked up... from... somewhere.

I think you may have more to fear from your friend than from the zombies.

They rode each other's horses.  Therefore the one who's horse finished second would end up winning all of the money.
