I know at least SOME of you live in Illinois and thus, have access to chicago (as do some of you cheeseheads).


So, I'll be going to Navy Pier the 3rd of July to celebrate the 4th of July with the BIG fireworks.

Why it's done the 3rd and not the 4th, I shall NEVAR know, but if anyone wants to join me and some friends, send me a PM


BTW, it's during the "taste of Chicago", so you KNOW theres gonna be awesome food.

Yea, I'd almost dare a terrorist to try something.  We'd just nuke them.


Beisdes, while we have the day off, we still have recall codes.

For example (and i can give these becuase they are like 5 years old),

If we get a call thats usually 2 words (our emergency recall code), we ALWAYS head right back to the base.  Shortly after 9/11 right before the invasion of afghanistan, 10th MT gave their recall code and actually chartered planes that flew from specific airports to the 10th moutain headquarters base (I don't remember the name, so SUE ME).


In fact, if any unit in the military gives an emergency recall code, airports/airlines legally HAVE to bump people off of flights to make room for soldiers that would be going to the destination.

There was a drill a year or so back (some of you might remember or have been booted off flights to make room).  Trust me, if something happens, they will still be able to respond quickly and efficiently.  Besides, we've still got both the atlantic flag and the pacific flag fleet's for quick response.

It's called:

MAD

Mutually Assured Destruction.

Basically, we want the world to konw that if they launch nukes to destroy us, we will in turn destroy the ENTIRE world, and that you won't be able to dig deep enough to avoid being toasted like a marshmellow.


You wanna know the SCARIEST part?

Most of them are controlled by computers and the rest are controlled by 4 man operating teams.


Anyway, part of the reason we have so many nukes is because we create new more efficient/better ones.  And, by better I mean destructive power, with minimal environmental effects.  For example, the Tactical Nuke will obliterate a few mile wide area, with minimal fallout.  That means it could be either air-dropped or snuck behind enemy lines and used to wipe out an entire division at once with minimal possibility of losses to friendly forces.
