Are you sure it's even that?
Because, if so, then I'm really disappointed.
From the beginning, I felt like his wife being dead is implied, but...
SPOILERS
...I also thought the last parts of the story were implying that you checked your wife into a mental ward, slowly you started to not love your wife anymore, and on the last visit, she and her alternate personality or something take over the hospital
Man, fuck this shit. The only thing I liked were the visuals.
The puzzles were awful. And almost every time I came across a puzzle, I have no fucking idea what to do because they don't hint anything at all.
I didn't use a walkthrough for Amnesia and I got the best ending. This wasn't an accomplishment, they purposely designed the game to be something that isn't a video game...it's more of an interactive story.
Unfortunately, this mod plays like an unfinished Silent Hill and not like Amnesia. These games should not be about fucking puzzles. It should be about slowly revealing the story.
The visuals are amazing. It is definitely Jacob's Ladder and Session 9 inspired. I would rank it above Amnesia itself in terms of visuals.
But, my god, I can't tell you how many times I wasted 30 minutes to an hour walking back in forth somewhere and then desperately searching the comment section for the mod for advice.
The Piano Puzzle wasn't that bad, but the box puzzle with the buttons was awful. I didn't even get stuck on it, but only because I was lucky to see the rope on the painting. Otherwise, I would have been searching the FAQs.
How about the hammer on the wall? Again, luck was the only reason I didn't get stuck there.
How about the outside hallway where you break an iron bar and beat down a door?
You break an iron bar...
...to beat down a door.
Eh.
