To elaborate, FF's problem isn't just memory use. It handles resources...eh, average. It's that it has what are called memory leaks. Basically, idiot programmers who can't manage their pointers end up leaving large swaths of memory reserved but unused, with the OS unable to clear it until the program closes. In fact, Chrome should, at any given time, be using more resources than FF because it splits tabs into processes (provided that FF didn't suck and leak memory like crazy, mind you). However, because tabs are processes, even if memory leaks were rampant in Chrome, they would be cleared whenever the offending tab was closed. That is where Chrome beats FF, in its ability to use resources more intelligently and cleanly.

tl;dr: In a perfect world, FF would actually use less resources, but because it's so badly coded it can't even hope to, and will always lose out to Chrome in real world comparisons.

Yes, but in windowed mode, you probably don't have Chrome at the very top of the screen, either.

The only time this gets annoying for me is when I use Windows 7. I like how you can drag windows to sides of the screen and they take up half of the screen. :3

But of course, yeah, it isn't truly tabs-on-top anymore when you do that. :-/

I actually disagree that defeating the point of tabs on top is nit-pickey. I think that is a major flop.

You have taken a feature and stripped it of it's functionality and it became pure aesthetics.

This is comparable to say Firefox going with the Chrome idea of combining the address and search bar together, but burritos out the search bar capabilities.

That doesn't make any sense does it?

It makes as much sense as adding the Firefox logo above the tabs. It's going to be bad enough if it has a title bar, too.
