Or, er, realized something. I like somebody. My friend was always shady about talking about it, and I just thought he didn't like to talk about chicks. Cause he really doesn't. Not that he's odd or different, its just not his favorite topic. Thats understandable. But I always thought there was something off about him. He doesn't like to talk to people... only when I'm there. Is it because he wants to talk to me? Thats what I thought, though vaguely I realized something was amiss. He tells me when I'm not there how he talks to everyone, and all is cool. When I'm there he AVOIDS the group. (Youth group, btw.)

So the obvious has hit captain obvious. Today, we're sitting behind a row of girls which includes the girl I like. I watch my friend, and amusingly I noticed something: He couldn't take his eyes off the girl I like. So, it struck me. He doesn't talk to them when I'm there cause he doesn't want ME to. He doesn't talk about her cause HE likes her. He doesn't want me to get a chance to get to know her or like her, or so I'm guessing. It all makes sense with the way he's been acting. He likes the girl I like. XD This is amusing, yet quite sucky all at the same time. It makes perfect sense. He's not anti-social and he probably loves chicks, he just likes the girl I like.

This blows. <_<

For some reason, the way your post was structured, I thought you were coming out. And I was like "Why is he telling us?"

Anyways, yeah, that does blow. Confronting him about it in a casual matter....well, I suppose that could end badly. I don't know. If I was in the situation, I'd probably end up letting things happen the way they happen, but then make an effort not to lose the friendship if things work out between one of you and the girl.

As for my honest opinion just talk to him. Whatever you do though don't say, "She's mine. Keep your hands off her." Because that's just not cool. Talk to him, see how it goes.

Hmm, i've had the same problem, I recomend talking to him bout it. chances are that if he is really trying this hard he will want you to back down, at that point do so and when they break up ask her out. if he's willing to back down, be nice about it and mention that if the two of you break up that he can go out with her (even if your not cool with it, still nice to let him)

but that being said he hasn't actually said anything.
So if you find a way to talk to her while he's not around, and you 2 hook up, unless he's got jealousy issues things should still be find.  Just a little awkward when they're both around at the same time.  

Play stupid and go for it, just don't rub it in his face, and you should be fine.
