I'm interesting in starting up on EVE online... Any thoughts?

So yeah - I'll be going back to University soon, which means I'll be needing something to help kill time along with the usual student activities (and maybe some work), and maybe it's all the advertising of Empyrean Age, but EVE's starting to really appeal to me (If only for the easy pace, and the fact you're playing with big smeg-off space-ships). Have any of you guys given it a go, and if so, what did/do you reckon to it? Worth its subscription?

My advice: don't.


Play a fun game.

I play it. You get in phases. You'll really like it for a month, then get bored, then come back to it later. Just join a big corp and try to leech off someone else for isk so you can advance quickly and start making your own money, once you can make a good amount of money, the game is free.

I make roughly 2-3 million a day in Missions and loot.

My suggestion is that you get salvaging as a skill as SOON as you get a cruiser.

I read a short description of it once.

I immediately decided that should it ever wander up to my house, attempt to ring my doorbell, eventually figure out it's been broken for a year or two, and knock on my door, I will shove a shotgun up its ass and blow the fucker to kingdom come.

I didn't like the concept all that much, either.
