By the way, what I posted was a clip from Star Wars A New Hope Revisited fan edit. That actually was a deleted scene to the Revisited edition and didn't make it in the final version.
Honesty, I really recommend watching A New Hope Revisited. It is a fan edit of the movie and it is of amazing quality. They didn't just open up Adobe Premier or After Effects and start dicking around with shit; this is AMAZING work.
Anyway, I'm sure this edit was done from the prospective of huge Star Wars nerds, but PLEASE do not underestimate their work; this shit is actually really enjoyable. The edits actually made the film better as a movie and improve the flow of the movie. It also fixes plot points and even changes dialog. Some of the edits are mere cosmetic changes. They reanimated every single laser and light saber frame by frame. They also redid every single computer screen and hologram. But, they also went back and replaced dialog with stuff from the old Star Wars radio shows that either sounded better or worked with the plot better.
It's actually shocking how much trouble the creators of this went through. That is just fucking amazing to me. That looks good as fuck!
The difference between the Revisited version of this scene and the Special Edition is like night and day. The Revisited version feels like it is a bigger battle with more significance. It creates a scene that is more tense and appropriately so given that this is the biggest battle in the Rebel alliance's history so far. Everything depends on this battle for them.
I don't completely agree with all of the edits though.
