So, I filmed the Occupy Chicago stuff yesterday and... It's a bit crazy.
I'm not sure if they have a clear goal or not. They marched to city hall, and then right up to the mayors office. They went between chanting and sitting in solidarity about every 10 minutes. It seemed more like an attempt at media than anything else. I mean, a representative from the mayors office came out to take their petitions, and told them that another representative wanted to meet with their leader about their demands.
Some moron with a megaphone told the representative that if the other representative wanted to talk to them about it, she would have to go to one of their general assemblies. really, I think that was the stupidest thing I've ever seen.
I mean, they marched on city hall, got the mayors attention, and a rep to want to meet with their leader to start solving the problem, and they basically told her to fuck off. He knew that she wouldn't go to one of their general assemblies. I was at one of there general assemblies and they are chaotic.
They announce the days plan and then let any crazy who wants to spread information about their unrelated protest do it. Did you know that some of them are complaining about the annual film-festival Chicago holds? They claim it's a plot to sponsor violence in the middle-east or some crazy shit like that. WHAT THE HELL?
