I uploaded one from my comp, and it says that it's my avatar now, but obviously my avatar has not changed. I would just link it from photobucket, but when I do that, the forums won't let me resize it, and it looks crappy stuck at 200x200.

That happens. These kinds of forums tend to take longer to realize your avatar has been changed. No idea why. Its the reason I was avatar-less here for a long time, though.
